superglue and me
i've had a little accident with the aforementioned superglue. the lid glued on and i couldn't get it off. i used pliers. didn't work. so i thought to myself. i'll pierce the tube with a toothpick and some will gently flow out and i can use that to reglue the stone in my nose ring (not a ring a stud but it doesn't sound the same) ((my podiatrist calls it a nosepeg just like camels have )). you know what i'm going to say next don't you. it didn't gently flow out of the tube is gushed all over the bloody place. it's even on my computer table. it was especially on my fingers. the two fingers i used to pick up the nose ring. it stuck big time. i couldn't pull them apart. SHYTE i thought to myself. luckily the nail polish remover was on the table coz i took it to wallaroo to give myself a pedicure. it sort of removes the superglue. it's only 80 percent. it separated my fingers and i was able to reglue the stone. all good except that i have residue on my finger. it's under my nail too. feels icky. i guess it will wear off in a few weeks as it's not the first time this has happened. it could have been worse. i'll leave that to your imagination. so everything is almost back to normal. almost. :)
the pic is from my friend who went to bali recently. it's taken at the bali zoo believe it or not. so cute.

This week the Zoological Society of London published a list of the world's weirdest animals, including a purple frog that lives 12ft underground.
A RABBIT loves licorice - but it is very bad for them because they cannot digest sugars.
DALMATIONS are the only breed of dog that gets gout (because they are the only mammals, other than humans, which produce uric acid).
SLUGS have four noses - well actually a pair of gills for breathing and a pair of rhinopores (chemosensory organs) used for smelling.
HONEYBEES have hairs on their eyes to help them collect pollen.
The left leg of a CHICKEN is tenderer than the right one, which it uses most, therefore increasing muscle development. this can't be true, can it?
The sperm of a MOUSE is longer than the sperm of an elephant.
MICE are highly promiscuous and need particularly large testes to keep up with demand.
More human deaths have been attributed to FLEAS than all the wars ever fought. As carriers of the bubonic plague, fleas were responsible for killing one third of the population of Europe in the 14th century.
A CAT uses its whiskers to determine if a space is too small to squeeze through.
GOLDFISH lose their color if kept in dim light. Much like humans getting a tan, they need sunlight to keep their pigment.
ALBATROSSES have a wing span of up to 14ft and need to land only once every couple of years to breed. They can travel hundreds of thousands of miles each flight.
Certain Chinese i didn't know china had alligators, who knew??????? and American ALLIGATORS can survive the winter by freezing their heads in ice, leaving their nose out to breath for months on end.
DOLPHINS sleep with one half of the brain at a time, and one eye closed.
When two DOGS approach each other, the dog which wags its tail very slowly - showing anger - is in charge.
Some LIONS can mate more than 50 times a day.
If you lift a KANGAROO'S tail off the ground it can't hop - they use their tails for balance.
For every person there are roughly 200 million INSECTS.
A CROCODILE cannot stick its tongue out, because it is attached to the bottom of its mouth. This is why they appear to gulp their food down.
ELEPHANTS are the only mammals that can't jump.
CAMELS have three eyelids to protect themselves from blowing sand.
Many HAMSTERS blink only one eye at a time.
A FLAMINGO can eat only when its head is upside down. Its tongue pumps water through the sieve-like ridges that line its beak in order to trap microscopic algae.
A DOLPHIN'S hearing is so acute that it can pick up an underwater sound from 15 miles away.
BUTTERFLIES taste with their hind feet.
A SNAIL can sleep for three years if conditions are adverse (such as during a drought).
BEES have five eyes - three small ones on top of their head and two larger ones in front.
POLAR BEARS are the only mammal with hair on the soles of their feet. It helps them to get a good grip on icy surfaces, and also acts as a heat insulator.
Most ELEPHANTS weigh less than the tongue of a blue whale.
The only two animals that can see behind themselves without turning their head are the RABBIT and the PARROT.
PENGUINS can jump as high as 6ft in the air.
The last animal in the dictionary is the ZYZZYVA, a tropical weevil.
ELEPHANTS have been found swimming miles from shore in the Indian Ocean.
The leg bones of a BAT are so thin that they cannot walk.
GREAT WHITE SHARKS can go as long as three months without eating.
GOAT'S eyes have rectangular pupils, which enable them to watch over their broad, flat grazing area for predators.
KIWI BIRDS are blind and hunt by smell.
GIRAFFES have no vocal cords and communicate by vibrating the air around their necks.
A female OYSTER may produce 100 million young over her lifetime.
MOSQUITOES are attracted to the color blue twice as much as to any other color.
No two ZEBRAS have the same markings.
The longest recorded flight of a CHICKEN is 13 seconds.
A BEE must visit 4,000 flowers to make one tablespoon of honey.
By swallowing water, the PUFFER FISH becomes too big for other fish to swallow.
A full-grown BEAR can run as fast as a horse.
Female FLEAS drink 15 times their weight in blood every day.
When a GIRAFFE'S baby is born, it falls from a height of 6ft, usually without being hurt.
A DRAGONFLY can spot an insect moving 33ft away.
CAMEL milk does not curdle, because it has adapted to the desert heat.
POLAR BEARS can swim 60 miles without pausing for a rest.

my g/son is sleeping over
my daughter came down and helped me put new rug in lounge. looks nice. we went shopping and i bought them all some shoes. shoes are good. we had salad rolls for lunch. g/son and i are playing transformer games online. we walked to maccas for an ice cream and shake (him) and i had a coffee. he rode his scooter thingy there and i walked. was good. we will have a bath / shower and go to bed soon. he reads the same bedtime story that he's always had when he sleeps over. go dogs go by dr suess. my son had the book and he's written his name in the front. that was a while ago. i think my mother gave my son the book when he was 4 or so. it's too young for my g/son but it doesn't matter. his reading is terrible really for his age. i wish i could see him more regularly and help him with it. have a good sunday everyone. bfn

out to dinner
pic was taken at bali zoo by friend who just returned. how cute.
hi everyone, i just got home from dinner with work people. we went to the flying knife at semaphore. very delish food. wow. i had chicken teryaki salad. with wasabi peas even. i spilt some on my nice shirt. it's soaking as i type. i'm watching gordon fu((king ramsey. omg, how can he swear so much? i know people do but every other word is fu(k. besides that i like the show. cooking programs relax me believe it or not. and now i'm dieting (?) this show is better coz there's not that much food. i like jamie oliver's at home too. i think i missed it tonight. no bike ride tonight. and tomorrow i'm going out again. cafe primo (yuck) at mawson lakes. i hate cafe primo. food isn't that great and the noise drives me insane. oh well, it could be worse. i shouldn't complain. (but i do) my daughter is coming with the kids on saturday to help me move my lounge room around. i got a new rug and she will help me move the heavy stuff. nice of her i thought. i'll do sandwiches or something simple for lunch. i can't wait to see the munchkins. i'm hoping to have my g/son overnight.
ps - dentist was horibilis. drilling like there was no tomorrow. it feels fine today. i have to go back for a filling on top and then hopefully that's that. i know what you mean about the cost grotty, bloody hell. they charge like wounded bulls. i have extras with mutual so that pays just less than half or something like that. i had to go for four visits for the root canal. my canals are all curved. he said i have unusual canals. how tactful of him. they're deformed like my feet. i'm a freak. :(

divine hot chocolate recipe
Hot Chocolate Adapted from Dorie Greenspan’s Paris Sweets and LadurĂ©e. The original version of this recipe uses twice as much of each ingredient listed below, serving four people. To make it more friendly for my household, I’ve halved it to serve two. But feel free, of course, to multiply the amounts to serve four or six or however many you want. Whatever you do, don’t be tempted to skip the blending step. It helps to incorporate the chocolate and makes the texture velvety-smooth. My favourite chocolate for this is Scharffen Berger 70%. Use any bittersweet chocolate you like, but keep in mind that it should be one you love, since its flavour takes centre stage. 1 ½ cups whole milk, 2 ½ T water, 2 ½ T granulated sugar, 3 oz. bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped. In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, water, and sugar. Place over medium heat and whisk occasionally until the sugar is dissolved. Increase the heat to medium-high and bring the mixture just to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat and whisk in the chocolate. At this point, blend the mixture. If you have an immersion blender, you can do this directly in the saucepan; if not, you’ll need to transfer it to a traditional blender. Either way, blend for 1 minute (on high speed, if using a traditional blender - and take care (!), as hot liquids expand when blended). The finished mixture should be very smooth and frothy. Serve immediately. Note: Should you have any leftover hot chocolate - wishful thinking, I know - you can store in the refrigerator for 2 days. Reheat it gently over low heat, stirring occasionally, until hot. Blend for 1 minute; then serve immediately. Yield: 2 servings
the pic is a girl in a spa with thousands of tiny fishes nibbling away at her. strangly erotic. it tickles apparently. i think i like it. :0 click on the pic for a better view.
i can't believe it's sunday again. i woke really early, watered garden, did some h.work and went back to bed. great sleep in. it actually rained this morning. more like drizzle but it was wet. i just woke up and i should be doing stuff but whatever. it will wait for me.
my son fixed my bike friday night so i took it out last night and had a nice ride. i reckon i could get to the local shopping centre now if i really tried. don't know about getting back however.
spoke to my sister last night about our trip and we are both excited. already started packing. 23 days but who's counting?
i got my blog back to almost how it was now. don't know what i did to muck it up so much but it's good now.
i'm going shopping later. don't have to buy much, just a few groceries etc.
well the cool change arrived and it is great. i can sleep upstairs again.
have a great sunday everyone. enjoy what's left of your weekend. bfn
