cleaning doesn't agree with me. i'm only half joking. i was standing at the sink the other day not doing anything in particular when my shoulder popped. my good shoulder. heck it hurt. i think it's because i lifted a really heavy load the other day and i've overdone the cleaning thing. i've been scrubbing the kitchen and dining room floors by hand. as a consequence everything else is hurting too. my right arm is very sore. i must rest for a while me thinks. i'm going to a physio appointment tomorrow. i hope it helps. the weather since christmas/new year has been wonderful. very mild. that's about to change. we are in for a heat wave and i can only hope that it is short lived. i know, i know, it's summer time, what do i expect? it was good while it lasted :) other than that i've had computer problems (fixed now), i've been gardening a bit and the usual cleaning, sorting, boring and necessary stuff. friends are coming over for lunch on saturday so i'm looking forward to that. oh, and i forgot, i've lost my glasses. they have disappeared completely. i've looked everywhere and even went through both rubbish bins yesterday. it's a mystery but luckily i have a spare pair.

broken stuff and a dead fishy
january has not been a good month for me in a few ways. nothing serious but things keep breaking. and dying. yes, another fish died this morning. :( he's fertilizing the lemon tree now. a few things have broken lately:
1. my mouse. it worked when i went into the kitchen and when i came back the left button wouldn't move. broken.
2. my camera charger. i plugged it in the other night to charge the battery for the wedding on saturday. it exploded. sparks, smoke (the smell was awful) and it made sizzling noises. very broken. i ordered another one from ebay.
3. the other night i chucked the empty washing basket down the stairs (as is my habit. why take something downstairs when you can chuck it. most things land safely and i'm usually careful) and my golden Buddha took a tumble. he has a few holes in him but is otherwise intact so i put him in the garden.
my lovely son came for breakfast and fitted a blockout blind to the lounge room window for me. it looks fab. he also put a suitcase (i have too many suitcases) up on the wardrobe shelf. it's got my cables and electrical cords etc in it. i've been going through mountains of stuff in the spare room and have a giant bag of donations for the second hand shop. i've also gathered three large bags of rubbish. good job but it's still not finished. it's getting there though. oh no, i just reread that and it sounds like my house is really full of junk. weather is pretty good here. was a bit damp this morning, from dew me thinks. i was a little bit cool and almost put a cardy on. i woke up way too early so may need to take a small nana nap this arvo. :) on a positive note, i have three lemons and two chilies growing nicely. the herbs are doing quite well too.

library disease
i have the urge again. the urge to purge, to clean, chuck out, tidy and generally declutter. there's that word again which didn't exist a few years ago did it? the spellchecker doesn't even recognise it. clutter, mess, call it what you will. possessions. too much of everything, except maybe youth, money, sex, no we won't go there just now, let's save that for another blog. anyway, i'm in a cleaning mood. everything is messy, even my computer, so i've been sorting, deleting all in readiness to reinstall and hopefully get back to a reasonable speed, it's so slow atm it's not funny. i even put the hundreds of shortcuts on the desktop into, wait for it, a new folder called 'shortcuts'. btw, i call it library disease because that's when we go nuts and weed/cull all the old books etc, everything in it's place and a place for everything. my mother and sister live/d by this principal, whilst i, on the other hand, never quite make it, but i have the very best of intentions. i know what you're thinking. why doesn't she just do it instead of blogging about it but my theory is that if it's written down it somehow validates it and, therefore, i'll actually do it. what bs that is but any excuse in a storm.
