library disease

i have the urge again. the urge to purge, to clean, chuck out, tidy and generally declutter. there's that word again which didn't exist a few years ago did it? the spellchecker doesn't even recognise it. clutter, mess, call it what you will. possessions. too much of everything, except maybe youth, money, sex, no we won't go there just now, let's save that for another blog. anyway, i'm in a cleaning mood. everything is messy, even my computer, so i've been sorting, deleting all in readiness to reinstall and hopefully get back to a reasonable speed, it's so slow atm it's not funny. i even put the hundreds of shortcuts on the desktop into, wait for it, a new folder called 'shortcuts'. btw, i call it library disease because that's when we go nuts and weed/cull all the old books etc, everything in it's place and a place for everything. my mother and sister live/d by this principal, whilst i, on the other hand, never quite make it, but i have the very best of intentions. i know what you're thinking. why doesn't she just do it instead of blogging about it but my theory is that if it's written down it somehow validates it and, therefore, i'll actually do it. what bs that is but any excuse in a storm.

  2. Mandy, you should keep all those school reports and stuff, although, it only adds to the mountain of paper. whatever happened to the paperless society, actually i read something the other day that it's worse than ever. a paperless society is a myth

  5. ah bums and posers. those were the days. axel rose. i just read a book about axel which was really interesting. can't remember the title atm. i use a filing system at work called the file it under r - for rubish system or alternatively b for bin. works for me. i'm watching an ac/dc doc atm. it's gorgeous weather here. enjoy your day whilst sparing a thought for the victims of the bushfires. it's our national day of mourning. cheers, Fran

  6. Fran, I catch this disease when I have a deadline on something important. Then windows need washing, closets need pruning, tax files from 2002 need shredding...you name it, anything BUT what I'm supposed to be doing.

    Go forth and PURGE girl!
